what's in a name?

Sometime in the 80's, my parents couldn't decide on what to name their new kiddo.

So they took the first letters of their middle names and came up with "Kay-Dee."

Sometime in the 2022's, I couldn't decide on what to name my new salon studio.

So I took my own name back to its origins.

i've always been enamored by victorian era architecture.
unfortunately, johnstown doesn't have a lot left to boast thanks to its rich history of destructive flooding.

One of the main reasons I decided to open up my own studio was to give myself the opportunity to renovate and restore the ground floor of one of the oldest buildings in town.

Built in 1897, the Thomas building has been standing across the Stonycreek river from Central Park for over 125 years.

before and after

All work took place between early July and late October 2022.
My endless gratitude goes out to Dave Oatman, Leverknight Electric, and Hinkle Plumbing for helping me turn my vision for the space into a reality.
